About Me.

Ruriko Okita is an undergraduate student at UT Austin studying chemistry with a composite science teaching focus.  She has experience student teaching elementary through high school students in math and science.  She is an undergraduate research assistant in the Learning and Futuring (LaF) lab led by primary investigator Dr. Emma Gargroetzi.

 

Making STEM classrooms more welcoming, enjoyable, and conducive learning environments for students of all identities motivates her to research, study and practice pedagogy.

 

In her free time, Ruriko enjoys spending time with family and friends and practicing her hobbies.
